Magpie Tales #15...Brass Fish

brass fish can't flap
can't fight for breath
amalgamated flesh and zinc
copper gills and fins

but still cruelty follows
where fish are slaughtered

even brass laid out in moulds
has blood stains and scales
and scales can not weigh life
or death, even brass fish
deserve to be free

Powerful metaphor here about the reach of our consumer values. Well done.

Strong piece. Amazing take on the prompt. I love it.

Powerful and gripping a well written poem there --- makes one stop and think about what we are doing.

Cold and striking, like metal. Thought provoking piece.

Dear A.T: Love your wisdom here. A poem which gives credence to the value in the spirit of the, in and of; things. The value of which is unspoken mostly, but just as valued as real. A lesson here!

I guess I ask why?
Got me thinking about what you intended...
For me..lucky fish.. made of metal
it is still only metal
I guess I over thought this one
but you got me thinking!!!

I spent too much time thinking about this but ended up with something simple. Great job.
